What are RSS Feeds?

RSS HelpRSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works. An RSS document called a "feed" includes full or summarized text, plus metadata such as publishing dates and authorship. It brings to you all the latest updates from your favourite websites as soon as they are published. It helps you stay updated with the latest information, without having to visit each site manually.

RSS feeds can be read using a software called RSS reader which can be web-based, desktop-based, or mobile-device-based. The user can subscribe to a feed by either entering the feed's URL into the reader or by subscribing to the feed from the site directly through a feed icon. The RSS reader checks the user's subscribed feeds regularly for latest updates and downloads them for the user.
